It would have been easy to write off the Banshees after the so-so Superstition, especially given the fact that it came after two uneven and disappointing albums (including the unnecessary covers collection Through the Looking Glass) Frankly, one of punk's most consistently invigorating acts seemed to have run their voselmeyvermadulwaitheobosirinont.coinfo enough, The Rapture proved to be their final recording.8/

The 2nd single from their album “The Rapture” and the last single released from Siouxsie And The Banshees, “Stargazer” is an uptempo pop-track just like the first single “O Baby”. It was released.

Aug 02,  · Nevertheless, "The Rapture" has some of the Banshees's most lush, ornate music ever. "O Baby" is shiny piece of jangle pop, with cheerful lyrics over a skipping rhythmic backdrop. "Stargazer" is very catchy with a killer acoustic guitar hook. "Not Forgotten" is much darker with its eerie tribal rhythms; very unsettling song.

"Rapture" is perhaps their most pop offering to date, yet it was not a carbon copy of the pop music of the early nineties. Sioux gave up screaming for crooning years ago. My recommendation for new Banshees fans: buy this one and work backwards. Few artists are as versatile and indestructable as Siouxsie and the Banshees/5(14).
