True to the album title, they can't in fact be stopped (to sign autographs) for life-long fans. i Geto Boys pubblicarono l'album We Can't Be Stopped, con una title track ferocemente rivolta verso la Geffen e i mass media. fra queste ultime spicca "Mind Playing Tricks on Me", una perla scritta interamente da Scarface. La canzone narra lo /5(67).

Feb 12,  · Club Love "Mind Playing Tricks on Me" was the only number 1 single (chart: Hot Rap Singles) ever released by the Geto Boys. It was featured on their album We Can't Be .

A photo of a bloodied Bushwick after the incident appears on the cover of the We Can't Be Stopped album. The Geto Boys were very real. They were formed by year-old James "Li'l J" Smith, who wanted a group that would represent the violent Fifth Ward of Houston, a ghetto where he formed the record label Rap-a-Lot Records.

Inside the album, proceedings were among the most extreme in the history of recorded music. Obviously, radio airplay was non-existent, but We Can't Be Stopped still went platinum in early -- thanks to the Top Ten R&B single "Mind Playing Tricks on Me," one of the most effective inner-city vignettes in hip-hop history.

Aug 03,  · This was the first album that contained songs I wanted to listen to, but somehow found it not good for my own mental health to indulge. We Can't Be Stopped was the "Mind Playing Tricks on Me" album. It literally could, and I think should, have been named after what is arguably the most influential song in modern hip-hop history to me.

This album is probably the Geto Boys best album. Besides "Mind Playing Tricks On Me" The Geto Boys speak on not being nominated at award shows, not wanting to go to war, Beef with other artist, and the struggles of living in the ghetto of Houston, Texas. If your a fan of hip hop you should definitely listen to this album.

Mar 09,  · As for the censorship, every song left has rerecorded lyrics, including the radio edits of the singles "Mind Playing Tricks on Me" and "I Ain't with Being Broke". The song that has been the most drastically changed was "Chuckie" due to how grotesque the album version was despite not having much cursing/5(4).
